In Sussex a Clouded Yellow was reported on 6th,9th & 13th Sept.(www.sussex-butterflies.org.uk)

Night of 14 September: Diamond-back Moth 11, Rush Veneer 1, Dark Sword-grass 1 and Silver Y 40.

Another White-point on the night of the 13th. Silver Y numbers now falling with just 3 in last night's trap,

Apologies for the late entry but hopefully will add to an overall picture.
6th Sept, Porthgwarra (near Lands End) and 7th Kenidjack (North coast) probably 1000s Silver Ys. In 2 hour walk, Silver Y on virtually every heather flower. BH also reported lot at Crows an Wra. (central Penwith) L & H |

Monarch butterfly still present this afternoon at the ornamental park in Easton. The park is SW of the gardens in the centre of Easton, opposite the health centre (first right turn past the gardens - if you get to Tesco you've gone too far).

Yesterday PM a Hummingbird Hawkmoth sunning itself on a wall in High Street Fareham

Night of 13th September, not a huge catch probably because of the windy conditions, the usual 15 species or so with Brindled Green, Angle Shaded and Shuttle-shaped Dart (prob migrant) Vine's Rustic has now over-taken SSR in the trap.
