At 125W MV light on 28.viii.2012 a single Autographa gamma Silver Y.
Also single Lymantria dispar Gypsy Moth, from a known resident population. No sign of adult Thaumetopoea processionea Oak Processionary as yet, also resident. |

On the night of the 28th 3 Cydia amplana to the trap and 2 Silver-Y.

On the afternoon of the 28th while recording Orthoptera near Ely in Cambridgeshire, only my third Painted Lady of the season; a minimum of 6 Silver Ys were also present in riverside herbage. At least 20 Red Admirals noted in a two hour period on the same afternoon,

Night of 27th, 23 Silver Y, 8 of which at dusk in the poly-tunnels, 15 at MV.

Another Gypsy Moth to back garden traps (a pair of 125 MV's home made Skinner's) on night of 26/08/12, photos show it to be a clearly different moth to one taken on night of 24/08/12. Not much else, 4 Silver Y's, single Canary Shouldered Thorn, Large Thorn, Tree Lichen Beauty etc.

Group trapping session at Bawdsey on the night of 26 August: Diamond-back Moth 11, Rush Veneer 28, Latticed Heath 2, Convolvulus Hawk-moth 1, Small Marbled 1 (incredibly new to Suffolk, after last year's record nationwide influx when Suffolk missed out),Dark Sword-grass 5 and Silver Y 96.
