Summer is here at last! 3 Clouded Yellows over the week-end & the MV traps have been very full: night of 16th August, Latticed Heath (migrant) & September Thorn (2nd island record). 17th August, Rosy Underwing, Cosmopolitan, Tree-lichen Beauty, Bordered Straw & Scarce B S; also Tawny-Barred Angle (very scarce here). 18th July Toadflax Pug & Bordered Pug (both 2nd island records), 2nd brood Clouded Buff. We thought the Cydia amplana invasion had ended, but there were 83 in the traps on 17th & we gave up counting on 18th.
