A Diamond-back Moth (Plutella xylostella) was seen yesterday (1st May) at TQ413093, on vegetation by a stream in Lewes, VC14. A rare migrant so far this season and my first DBM of 2012.

STRIPED HAWKMOTH, Hyles livornica, to MV light in garden on 1 May 2012. Mint condition, but sadly a male. Only other possible migrants 2 Plutella xylostella. 5 other spring moths in trap on an otherwise very poor night.

Using 3 traps over 30 nights in April a grand total of just 90 moths of 16 species trapped. Pathetic. No migrants.
