Migrant moths were very good last night on St Agnes, Isles of Scilly - 18/10/17.
We had an impressive Vestal total, but not as good as some people elsewhere! Best trap had 19. Also 20 migrant species is impressive too! 8 traps plus ivy - (L. Finch, R. Hemming & me) our totals were; Rusty-dot Pearl 69 (26) Rush Veneer 24 (3) Turnip 8 (4) White-speck 68 (109) (decline was due to ivy being poor) Pearly Underwing 2 (4) Dark Swordgrass 6 (4) Vestal 41 (17) Gem 1 (1) Scarce Bordered Straw 1 (4) Delicate 3 (1) Small Mottled Willow 1 (1) White-point 1 (0) Large Wainscot 1 (0) Slender Burnished Brass 1 (0) Small Marbled 2 (0) Purple Marbled 1 (0) Palpita vitrealis 1 (0) Silver Y 4 (0) Hummingbird Hawk-moth 2 (0) Figures in brackets are previous night totals. |
