I know this isn't in Britain or Ireland, but I thought it would be interesting news for migrant watchers. I'm trapping in S Spain near Gibraltar with Penny Hale and last night we trapped 25 Bordered Straws including 16 in one trap. The previous night there were 11 and a few nights earlier 7,which is a good count for here.So,25 is amazing - the commonest moth! So, thinking ahead if Britain & Ireland get some southerlies blowing up from Spain then there might be a good year for Bordered Straws further north too!
