I trapped Cudmore Grove, Essex with Dougal Urquhart and 7 traps between us in preparation for moth course at Flatford Mill this weekend and there's a great set of moths for people to see on the course already. Interesting night with lightning and heavy rain when setting up traps, but min temp of 18c all night !
Migrant moths were; Sitochroa palealis x 1, Rusty-dot Pearl x 2, Tree-lichen Beauty x 3, White-point x 3, Dark Swordgrass x 1, Small Mottled Willow x 5, Silver Y x 4, Convolvulus Hawk x 1 and my first Ni Moth of the year! Residents included Saltmarsh Plume, Platytes alpinella and 42 Sandhill Rustics. (plus 2 further tree-lichens at Flatford Mill) |
