Thurs night 25/8 at Prawle Point trapping with Steve Whitehouse & Mark Marshall - weather was not as good for migrants or moths in general. Heavy rain overnight with colder N wind and going clear late in night meant temps dropped to 13c
But still over 110 species recorded. Migrants recorded were at least; Diamond-back x 3 Rusty-dot Pearl x 91 Rush Veneer x 60 Cydia amplana x 1(very worn) Vestal x 2 Silver Y x 43 Dark Swordgrass x 24 (including 18 in the best trap!) Scarce Bordered Straw x 1 European Corn Borer x 1 Convolvulus Hawk x 1 Interesting that Vestal and Dark Swordgrass numbers were up on previous night (and Convolvulus) |
