Is there a cost to join the group? There is no cost for membership of the group. Donations are accepted to cover the cost of refreshments at the monthly meetings.
How is information fed back to members?

Information is shared and discussed at our well attended monthly meeting. Every member reports observations, records, field trips, correspondence and other matters of interest. Exhibits are presented.
A ‘Yahoo! Group’ is used to allow any member to communicate with the whole group.

The website includes a noticeboard to direct visitors to new information
Reports produced by members are presented at meetings and copies are available in the BMG library.

Is there an active field events programme and are non-members welcome to attend these events? The BMG runs field trips throughout the year. Selected trips are publicised on the website and advertised elsewhere. A number of fieldtrips are run jointly with other organisations e.g. BENHS.
Many more, smaller field trips not included in the programme are undertaken throughout the year. Weather-sensitive and date-sensitive trips will deliberately not have exact dates as these will only be finalised when the optimum day is determined. Short-notice trips are sometimes notified via the Yahoo group
A brief summary of the work of the group. In addition to our monthly meetings, we have periodic workshops e.g. using MapMate, leafminer identification, genitalia determination for beginners, Barbeque moth trips, overnight/camping moth trips.
