A brief summary of the work of the group. The main aim of the group is to record moths in Essex and enable these data to be collated by the county recorder(s) to help inform knowledge on the status and autecology of species. The group regularly surveys habitats and nature reserve areas in Essex to assist conservation conducted by Wildlife Trusts, RSPB, National Trust and municipal and local nature reserves. There is an annual meeting/exhibition.
