News From Flight Arrivals
An incursion of warm air from the Azores kept temperatures unseasonably warm and brought an amazing range of immigrant moths and butterflies, including this Levant Blackneck caught by Martin Angel in Surrey. Other rarities included Tunbridge Wells Gem, a probable Spalding’s Dart, the first British record of Cornifrons ulceratalis, Eastern Bordered Straw, Purple Marbled and Striped Hawk-moth, as well as an exceptional arrival of the migrant Syncopacma polychromella.
